Held September 6 @ 7 p.m Blackjack’s Roadhouse 12 members present

We welcomed a new member, Mr. Marsh Miller to our group!

The August minutes were reviewed by Club Prez. Roy M. and accepted by all present.

The treasurers report was given & the club account stands really firm & report was accepted by all present. In October we have to prepare the application to the province for the Non- Profit society status for 2018.

Bowties vs the World report:

This year’s event was the 2nd best in entrant turn-out in our 17 yrs. of presenting this event. Special Thanks to ALL our Sponsors & supporters. There were 144 paid entrants (with a few more that thought about joining us outside the show area), last year we had 125 entrants. Jim K. provided a report on the event costs and notables.

The results are posted on the website with some pictures. This year we chose to disperse the donations to 4 different Edmonton Kid’s programs and they all will receive a little over $1100.00 each, Rather than 1 program, as was in the past.

Roy thanked those who assisted in the event, with special note given to those Ladies who worked at the Reg. Table & the members from the Drayton Valley car club (who assisted in the ballot counting).
Big Thanks goes out to Jim K. for all his efforts again for making this event successful. He has been working on this event for a long time, which is 17 yrs. & counting. Kudos for his efforts!

After the event there was a minor OOPS on our Long haul Award presentation.. Noted was Dale Martin from Bonnyville Ab. But Greg Robertson from Powell River B.C was also noted as well. Greg will be presented with a long haul award soon.

Overall response was REALLY good from all the entrants & everything from the contests to special draws were well received.. However the Silent Auction did not fare well. Some of the Pros & Cons of this event will be adjusted over the next few months. Nothing really serious however.

Canadian Tire to move to its new location in 2018, just off the A.Henday & just east of Manning Dr.

The event may follow them. Or if possible, we will stay at our present location. Stay Tuned!

The Edmonton & Area Spring Swap Meet:

The original date has been moved from April 28 to June 9/18 due to a date conflict
with another group, this move may avoid potential date conflicts with groups as well. This was accepted by all present. Jim will inform via mail, all last spring’s swap meet vendors, the info for 2018, starting in January sometime. Stay Tuned.

The club will be at the fall (Oct. 7) Red Deer Swap meet presented by Quick Times, Norm M. & Jim K. to go down and represent the club. Anyone that wants to help at our table(s) contact Jim. Being there promotes the Car Club.

New Business;

The club has been asked to provide 3-4 vehicles for a special evening photo shoot at the Northern Alberta Railway Museum. Don C., Gene B., Chris L. & Jim K to be there.

September 22, 2017 – The Club has been asked to be at the Copper Sky retirement Lodge in Spruce Grove for a couple of hours to present our vehicles & visit with the seniors. We need 4 or more for that day. A BBQ lunch will be provided. Contact Jim if you can come out.. This type of outing brings the smiles and reminders to the seniors who at one time owned a Tri-5. Come on Out.

Could there be changes in the Wind:
Roy M. has informed the club that he may have to step down from his position due to family commitments. Norm M. was asked if he was interested at this time & the V.P Shawn G. was also asked.. Both to respond and more to come at the October meeting.

Also the position of Club Treasurer & Event Co-ordinator may also be vacant, as Jim K. has expressed that he may step down after all these years.

The club`s membership director may step down, Don C. to respond at Oct. meeting.

A possible change to our meeting venue was discussed, & more to come.. All members present were asked to check into locations that we could move to.

50-50draw: The cash was won by Shawn G. The Golf watch won by Doug J.

The garage metal sign won by Marsh. M.

Next meeting 7 p.m October 4th at Blackjack`s Roadhouse, Nisku AB.
