October 4/2017 7 p.m start 10 members present The September minutes were read by Club Prez. Roy M. & accepted by all present. The treasurer’s report was given by Jim K. and all ok. Report was accepted by all those present. New Business: Annual Christmas Dinner function was discussed. We had a very low turn out last year & the cost per plate was too high. A Possible venue change for this year is a good possibility. The meal format was discussed & if we move the function to another location (Possibly a private res.), a potluck type supper was accepted. Norm M. has offered his residence for the annual outing with those who attend to bring a meal or desert (potluck). November 1st meeting should give the club/ Norm an idea on who and what is to be brought or attending. If you are a PAID member for the 2017 year you can contact Norm @ 780-483-3144 to confirm your attendance & what your “potluck” donation will be,This is slated for December 6/2017 @ 7 p.m. The discussion on re-locating the Club’s meeting back into the city was discussed with some suggestions given. The move will take place in the new year. More discussion on this topic at our November meeting. Some members to investigate some locations & will report on their findings. Application for the yearly renewal for the Provincial Non-Profit status is due & Jim K. to take care of application again. Norm M. has accepted the position of the club’s membership director for this term as Don C. has stepped down. Changes to the membership form address change to be completed. Roy M. to stay on as Club Prez for 2018, as well Shawn G. & Jim K. also stated that they will stay in their positions for another year. Roy and his wife have expressed interest in taking over the club’s website from Kellen (as he has noted that he cannot do it due to personnel commitments). The spring swap meet is on June 9th and the club will donate the gate receipts to the Daysland Playground Committee.. This idea was well accepted by all members.. The visit to the Copper Sky Lodge in Spruce Grove has been moved to the spring of 2018. The Northern Alberta Railway Museum photo shoot evening had three of our members out & the Edmonton Shutterbugs were the photographers that invited us out. Chris L. with his ’57 Nomad, Gene B. with his ’56 wagon & Jim K. with his ’55 Sedan were the members who represented the club. Check their website for their photos. The Canadian Tire store on Fort Road is moving to their new location, just off the A. Henday & the plan for us to stay where we have been the last two years(Fort Rd/132Ave) will be addressed with the property owners though-out the winter months. Jim K. has volunteered to work on that. The 18th Annual “Bowties vs the World” S/S is slated for August 25th , Canadian Tire has expressed in the past to have the event moved to their new location But after further review of the new site, the visual of our event to the public could be affected. This past year’s event sponsors will have a Thank-you note sent to them as well. The Swap Meet in June has had a few concerns discussed, regarding the table rental concept, the use of diesel powered units in the area & length of trailers to be brought into the venue. These general areas were a hot topic with the Fire Marshall & the Venue management. Roy & Jim to work with them on their concerns and will report to the club as the new year approaches. All the vendors who attended the 2017 Swap Meet will be notified in the new year. More to be addressed at the upcoming meetings. 50/50 draw: Armand L. won the cash, Doug J won a watch & Norm M won a Metal garage sign. Next meeting is November 1st @ 7 p.m , Upstairs BlackJack’s Roadhouse, Nisku AB. Meeting minutes recorded by Bernie M.
