The Edmonton & Area 567 club July Meeting Minutes

The Treasurer’s Report was given( good news) & was accepted by those present..
Click "Read More" for details

A Discussion on member contacts and the receiving of new/renewed memberships was brought forward.. Those present made a decision on the new & renewed membership issue, with the result being that NO memberships will be accepted till those who want to join up or renew have their membership forms completed & returned with the yearly fee ($25.00). This makes it much easier for the membership Director and Executive to keep track on membership in the club.

Phone lists were another concept brought forward, in order to have that completed we need all members to provide us with contact numbers and a party that will do the task in contacting the members.. Further discussion at the August meeting.
Right now, we rely on e-mail addresses to contact the members, But some do not read their e-mail till the message/happenings have been completed..(too late)

The Web Report was again a Bright spot for our group, with approx..1800 hits.. Lots of interest on the August 29th Show n Shine and Club happenings..

A decision to have other groups use our web-site to promote their events will be “filtered” by the Executive, whether to support or not to support.. Too many groups are using our website to advertise their event world-wide, But not really inviting our club to participate.. When Jim gets a notice from a certain group about their event, he will forward all the “info” via e-mail to all the members..

Remember the Two Seniors “50’s days” at their retirement Complexes in August.
We need a Very Good turn out from all members for August 14th @ the Canterbury Seniors complex @ 6 P.M and at the Touchmark Seniors home on August 19th @ 6 p.m also.. Canterbury is located at 84 Ave & 142 St.. Touchmark is at 183 St. & Lessard Rd….. There are a couple of invites for September as well PLUS our Co-sponsored Swap meet with Blitzkrieg Kustoms on September 19th.. In Leduc !!

Club insurance is to be renewed in August, with a small increase in cost and a New Insurance Company has been assigned to us.

Fellow member Gene Larose gave a brief discussion on the happenings at the ESRA group and their plans for 2015..

A Goodwill Ambassador was introduced to the group, she is Ms. Janice Snell and she will be out to assist us in promotion of the club & our events..

Club T-shirts are being produced ( 60 T-shirts), members price $20.00 each. With the New logo on the left front crest area and a full 12 inch crest on the back.. No size “small” in this order ( we have a little amount of small sizes left from previous supply).. They are not big sellers!

Bowties vs the World update……………
Event T-shirts marking our 15th Anniversary are in the making as well, will be ready for the event (80 t-shirts). When they are gone, they are gone!! We may take orders for some after they are gone but require approx. 36 t-shirts to make the order worthwhile. Special anniversary Decals have been ordered for the Entrants.

This could be the last year to have the Kids with Cancer benefit from us, No real interest from their group on what we are doing each year and it maybe time to help someone else out next year..
All the Major Sponsors have returned & just waiting for just a couple of sponsorship fees to be turned in. Awards to be produced by Prath again for this year and the event order to be given to them very soon.

Special flyers are produced and a bunch were given out to those in attendance.
Event Posters to be posted in early August at various locations, the August Issue of Quicktimes to have a advertisement of our event as well..

The mall to provide Goodie Bags and Various tenants have also come forward with door prizes.. BUT we still need door prizes and a couple of REAL COOL raffle prizes.. Members we need YOUR HELP on This!!!!!!! Contact Jim with what you

have been able to obtain. The same fella as we have had in the past (Kenny), has been hired for the DJ side of entertainment..

Swap & Shop..
A Brief discussion on member’s projects and assisting parts locating occurred…
There was no 50/50 draw at his meeting nor any door prizes, due to low attendance but will resume in August..
Meeting was chaired by Jim K. and recorded by Kellen K.
Meeting ended @ 8:05 p.m Next Meeting August 5th/2015 @ Airways Inn
