Previous minutes from June were read by V.P Shawn G. (Roy M. absent) & accepted by all present.

Treasurer’s report was given & everything is “a-ok” & accepted by all present.

New Business:
The date for the 2nd annual Swap meet is April 28, 2018 in Sherwood Park. More to come and discuss as the date gets closer.

Tentative plans for a Calmar cruise to the Burger joint were highlighted.

Club member Glen T. is looking for some 55 & 56 parts.. Contact Glen for info.

Bowties vs the World :
New award sponsors have come forward & many thanks to them for their help! A list of all the sponsors will be posted and will be mentioned often during the event plus they have been listed on the club’s website.

Modifying the car ramp was discussed to “aid” the lowrider entries & Norm. M has taking this project under his wing.

Show n Shine budget is approx. $3000.00 & that is in place. The club’s own account will not be affected by the cost of this event. Posters & hand-outs are printed and will be delivered ASAP.
This year’s charity format has been changed as per the club member’s decision, the kid’s charities to benefit from this event are – Be Brave Ranch, Edmonton Autism Society, Jumpstart program & Kids with Cancer Society.

New event hours are from 9 a.m to 4 p.m (or sooner).

We are still in need for door prizes and require volunteers to make the event work well. The areas that will require help are - the Registration desk, ballot counting, set-up/tear down, parking entrants & car photo booth.. All forms and waiver sheets associated to the event are printed.. The event Success is based on YOU !!!

The August issue of Quick Times has the event “AD” on the 2nd page in color.. Thanks to Don M. @ Quick-Times.

The Kilkenny Cub & Scout troop to do the BBQ again, do assist them in raising $$$ for their trip to the Canadian Jamboree.

The washrooms have been ordered. Shawn G. looking after that.

There is a Banner posted at Canadian Tire to inform all about the Show n Shine & it can be re-used over & over again each year.

Set-up time is slated for approx. 7 a.m Saturday August 26, Jim cannot “camp” over night the night before (as he has done in the past) so it is important to be there to set-up at the above mentioned time.

Pre-event BBQ is on August 21 @ 6:30 at Jim & Linda’s place, if you want to bring a salad or desert contact Jim in advance.

Club Website :
The club has surpass the 100,000 hits for the website’s operation. The most viewed sections this past month are the past Bowties vs the World Photos & info on the club. Kellen K. has been operating as a interim bases & will only be able to do this till October. The host web builder “Go Daddy” has been paid for coverage till April 2018. A discussion on who will take over the “Website Guru” position is still being addressed as of the print.

Kellen is working on a Show n Shine Montage to be on the website leading to our show date.
