Meeting Minutes for January 2016

The November minutes were read and accepted by all, there were no minutes from the December meeting, as it was the Club’s Annual Christmas Dinner that date.

The treasure’s report was given, all is ok with our account. The monies to pay the Christmas dinner and to mail out the sponsorship gifts were taken care of.

The club received 7 renewals for the 2016 year & a reminder to all members that the 2016 memberships are Due!  Welcome Aboard!!!!! Yearly dues are $25.00.

New Business:
 Roy M. to plan a few club trips for this winter. A trip to the Reynold’s Museum & a couple of shop tours are in order..

If you are looking for any parts, contact Don C. He has a Bin Full of New Parts for the Tri-5’s.. Don is also looking for a complete set of 1955 Chevy Fenders w/ inner fenders as well.. Please contact him.

Our presence at the Quick Times spring swap meet was discussed and passed, the club will have the usual 3 tables and our travelling Trailer there. And the members Ok’d the Motel costs again for our entourage.

Once again executive positions were discussed, all to return But the membership director position could be open or re-designed.. Further discussion at the Feb, meeting.
Some club calendars ( very few) are still to be distributed to all paid members, with any left over to be sold to anyone who wants one ( $5.00 ea. Poster type). Keith G. is our calendar “guy”.. He has tried to contact members regarding these.

Dougie J. asked the membership to assist him in his resto of his 55 Chevy..
Some members have had knee surgery the past Month & we wish them all a “speedy” recovery.. Jim going into get his “gizzard” removed soon. Best of  luck on that procedure..

Bowties vs the World Info:
The date for the Show N shine is August 27th/2016.. Jim has already contacted a couple of advertisers to promote the event.. Jim has asked for assistance this year in planning and getting the event off.. Response from the membership present was good. Roy & Shawn to help, plus maybe more members..

The location has to be decided, Northgate Centre wants us back despite 2015’s issues ( so they claim have been resolved) & also looking at the Canadian Tire store on Fort Road as a possible event location.. Jim & Roy to talk to Store manager with more to come soon.

Two businesses are interested on coming onboard, sponsoring the event this year, the Fountain Tire store on Yellowhead Trail & Edmonton Motors.. Jim will have more info soon.

The event is getting Popular in the Edmonton Area and we ALL have to work hard each year to solidify the Great success of this Event !!!

Swap & Shop:
Open discussion on member’s projects and various other topics were held. Plus the location of some parts required by members were “hankered” around..
