6. A Discussion Regarding Our Website
Kellen Kennedy introduced Jim Morrison who has expertise in websites. The fee of $50.00 to set up and $25.00 per month thereafter to maintain the site. The proposed new website was discussed. It was noted that our website does need improvements. All of our sponsors will be listed and Kellen/Jimm will show us the website that they have designed.
If there is enough interest, Kellen/Jimm will handle it for us. Example, each month would feature a member & their story on the website. They have other ideas to improve the site. Such as a member’s classified section, a newsletter, a cruise calendar, etc. The website has to be kept up-to-date or it creates a bad impression and gets us a poor reputation.

The discussion then turned to a discussion about the Domain aspect of a website. Jim Kennedy said we have to make our website more appealing. A vote was taken on having the current website maintained by Bill Werkman or have Kellen/Jimm do it.. The vote was heavily infavour the have Kellen/Jimm to take over.. & Carried..

The new domain is with “Go Daddy”..We have been with Telus since we started the website.

It was noted to get some of our members could be more active to the possibility of attending other Car Club’s Show n Shines especially any Club”s that are holding weekly events.

Noted: we had the highest membership (125) when we had a drag race with our annual Show and Shine back about 10 years ago. But due to the high costs at the track we have concentrated on hosting the Show n Shine which has been popular for many years..

It was said that we don’t have enough people who will step up and spend the time to work on our website and other areas of the club. Don Cornish said he was a little upset over the present situation with current state of the website and other areas of the Club’s activities that members can assist with.. We need involvement.. Support your Club!!!

7. Camrose Cruise

8. Speeders Go-Karts ( The 567 Grand-Prix)
We need 12 or more to have a group to go to the Speeders which would involve electric go Karts for a indoor race. So we have 9 committed, however Speeders has not replied to set-up a date and time.. Stay Tuned!
